"Indian Healthcare Industry Eyeing to reach US$ 372Billion by 2022: IIME/IIHN Expo & Summit"
The growth of the Indian Healthcare and Medical industry shows an upsurge over the years and the same is poised to reach US$ 372 Billion and US$ 11 Billion by the end of 2022. CAGR growth of the Indian Hospitals Industry is more than double that of Global scenario where it is growing at a rapid rate of 16 to 17 Per-cent where as the global growth is valued at 6 to 7 Per-cent. The Indian Medical industry largely consists of Multi National Entities with a Pan-India presence through direct as well as distributorships and Small and Medium Manufactures (SMEs) to whom the Govt provides various schemes through the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME)
With the Central Government’s initiatives in developing special economic zones and Medical parks, the industry is definitely looking at an upward curve and would be contributing effectively to the over all GDP of India in the coming years. The proposed Medical Parks -particularly in the southern region of the country- at Kerala, Telangana, Tamil Nadu are on the commissioning stage and expected to be get completed by the mid of 2021 where as the Andhra Pradesh Medical Park (Andhra Pradesh Medtech Zone- AMTZ) is already commissioned and started its operation with many enterprises up and running.
Presence of world class hospitals, experienced medical professionals, superior quality healthcare coupled with low treatment costs (treatment for major surgeries in India is 20% less than that of developed nations) has propelled the industry over the years. It is estimated that India will require an additional 2.07 Million doctors by 2030 in order to achieve a doctor to population ratio of 1:1000 where the global standard is 3:1000.
Its quite evident that Southern India leads the way in healthcare and in particular the state of Kerala is by far have the pioneer position in the Medical Infrastructure and superior treatments.
