Nearly 11,000 health professionals met at the eighth edition of Meditech

In its eighth version, the International Health Fair, Meditech 2024, organized by Corferias, the Colombian Association of Hospitals and Clinics (ACHC) and Messe Düsseldorf North America, reaffirmed its commitment to contribute to the construction of the future of health. This 2024 edition received about 11,000 professional visitors, more than 250 exhibitors, about 50 academic activities and a business roundtable that left an expectation of more than 2 million dollars.
Ana Garibello, director of the project from Corferias, mentioned that, "we are sure that the fair has served as a hub for the continuous development of the sector. We want to continue building spaces so that professionals in the sector have all the tools to strengthen health in the country."
For his part, Juan Carlos Giraldo, general director of the ACHC, said, "this version has been very important for us. We recognize the challenges that health is going through, however, we see the future with hope, and the fair works as the vital sign that the sector will continue to bet on providing well-being and services to the country."
More than 50 academic activities
One of the outstanding components of the event was the academic agenda, which this year included the 3rd. Symposium on Successful Solutions of Allied Entities to the Hospital Sector. In this symposium, entities allied to the hospital sector shared methods, knowledge and successful experiences developed in various institutions, with positive impacts on the health of patients.
In addition, the XV International Congress of Hospitals and Clinics, organized by the ACHC, opened with the presence of President Gustavo Petro and closed with the presentation of the VII National Safe Hospital Award to seven institutions. The event had about 20 conferences, had an attendance of more than 750 participants and managed to bring together government authorities and directors of hospitals and clinics from Colombia, Central America and Latin America.
Business expectations of more than $2 million
The business roundtable held within the framework of Meditech 2024, with the support of ProColombia, was held on July 10 from 10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. 53 buyers from Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, the United States, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Trinidad and Tobago, and Venezuela participated. In addition, 109 exhibitors-exporters participated, 469 appointments were made and business expectations were generated for a total of 2,772,750 dollars.
Innovation and health exhibition
The fair brought together the most complete commercial exhibition of services, equipment, software, technology and more, related to the hospital industry. Elvis Argel, Ukaint's commercial consultant, commented, "it is a nice experience because we made known the quality of our products and made both national and international contacts... I highly recommend participating in Meditech."
Aura Sofía Prieto, promoter of Nuptum, says, "the fair is very good, it is our first participation and we are really grateful, we make good contacts and customers."
Antonio Neto from Equiplex, highlights, "it is our first participation, we come from Brazil and from the first moment we were very satisfied; we understood that there is a good business opportunity here in Colombia."
