product description

MMR IHC Panel Includes the following antibodies:
  • MLH1 antibody reagent(IHC)
  • MSH2 antibody reagent(IHC)
  • MSH6 antibody reagent(IHC)
  • PMS2 antibody reagent(IHC)

The kits are used for in vitro qualitative testing to assessment the MLH1/ PMS2/MSH6/MSH2 protein expression in 4% neutral (phosphate-buffered) formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded(FFPE) solid tumor to assist with identifying cancer patients who can be treated with targeted drugs.

Mismatch repair genes are genetic susceptibility genes isolated in hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer(HNPPC), which is mainly including hMLH1, hPMS2, hMHS6, hMSH2, et al.), Mutations in any gene of this system will make the loss of mismatch repair protein expression. All can cause defects in cellular mismatch repair function (mismatch repair deficient, dMMR) and result in genetic instability. It presents with replication errors or Microsatellite instability (Microsatellite instability-high, MSI-H) and is prone to tumors.
Some clinical studies have shown that the PD1/PD-L1 inhibitor Keytruda is highly effective in cancer patients with Mismatch Repair defects (dMMR) or Microsatellite instability (MSI). In May 2017, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the PD-1 antibody Keytruda for the treatment of patients which is inoperable or metastatic solid tumors carrying dMMR or high MSI (MSI-H).
