Usage: for early detection of colorectal cancer
Stool DNA testing has natural advantages in detecting colorectal cancer. In a normal adult, there are epithelial cells exfoliating into lumen and executing with stool every day. Colorectal cancer cells fall out more likely than normal epithelial cells due to proliferation and decreased adhesiveness between the cells and the basilar membrane. Therefore, there are exfoliated cells or the elements of the cells in the colorectal cancer patient's stool, which carry the carcinogenesis messages of the colorectal cancer. These messages can be used for interpretation by special testing methods. COLOSFE is this right detecting tool for colorectal cancer to precisely interpret the mutated genes (human SDC2 methylation) from stool. It helps the physicians to early detect the carcinogenesis of colorectal tumor in patients in order to prevent and treat colorectal cancer when it can be stopped at its early stages. COLOSAFE was approved and licensed by National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) on Nov 20th, 2018. It has become the first licensed stool DNA testing kit for colorectal cancer in China. It's also ISO13485:2016-certified. CE mark is expected sometime in Jan 2020.According to the clinical statistics, with the specificity of 97.85%, COLOSAFE has achieved the sensitivity of 84.22% (315/374) and even 86.71% (137/158) for colorectal cancer in stage I-II which can be treated clinically. COLOSAFE received “1st Place of Guangdong Scientific and Technical Advancement Award in 2018”. COLOSAFE was awarded “The Ten Most Advanced Bio-technology in Medicine and Pharmacy of 2018 in China”.
